Volunteer
The work doesn’t happen without you.
L.I.G.H.T is a relational ministry. That means the most valuable thing you can give isn’t money — it’s presence. Here’s how to step in.
Ways to Serve
There’s a door for the time you actually have.
Joy Night Team
Show up weekly.
Help set up, serve food, sit at the table, build relationships with the young people. Consistency is the whole point — same faces, same warmth, every Friday.
Retreat Crew
Serve a Retreat.
Logistics, kitchen, small-group leading, prayer. The Retreat takes a team, and we onboard you carefully. Background check required.
Mentor Network
Pour into a mentee.
Believers in the marketplace who come alongside mentees to guide, support, and pour into their growth — the ministry’s fourth pillar. One consistent voice can shift a trajectory.
Skilled Support
Behind the scenes.
Photography, social media, design, web, legal, accounting. If you’re a pro at something we need, send us a note.
Prayer Team
Carry the work.
Receive monthly prayer points and lift the ministry, the missionaries, and named mentees before God.
Church Partners
Mobilize a congregation.
Bring L.I.G.H.T to your church’s missions table. Host Dayjoh for a Sunday. Adopt the Ministry Fund as a missions line.
What to Expect
Our volunteer process is intentionally careful.
Because we work with minors, every volunteer who has direct contact with mentees completes a background check, a brief interview with Dayjoh or Kayla, and child-safety orientation. It takes a few weeks. We’d rather start slow than skip a step.
Lower-touch roles (prayer team, skilled support, church partnerships) move faster.
Start the conversation.
